Mark R. Scherer, ChFC
FINANCIAL ADVISOR
Financial planning is a very personal process and Mark Scherer treats everyone as an individual. Mark's clients have dreams for their futures, and he has a deep and ongoing passion to help them fulfill those dreams. He is focused on helping people find and develop solutions for their financial futures. Since Mark specializes in retirement planning, he is a true believer in goals. He has been in financial services for over forty-three years, and he loves that he can provide people with protection for themselves and their loved ones. When you are not worried about the future you can enjoy the present knowing that you can grow your money and that you can navigate hurdles that may arise. He has strategies that can help with guaranteed income, and safe- money strategies. Mark is a financial advisor that is held to strict fiduciary standards. This means he must always act in the best interest of his clients and disclose any conflict of interest while also providing relevant facts and finding a financial plan that works for each person. His first step is to sit down with a potential client and get to know their hopes and dreams and how he can map out a solution for their long-term goals.
His greatest reward is seeing his clients breathe a sigh of relief when they know that their financial future is in good hands. Happily, Mark wants to take the extra time to earnestly educate and allow clients to understand the process and solutions for their individual needs. He is able to offer his client's state-of-the-art and leading-edge problem solving to find the best strategies for their particular needs. Mark considers different individual perspectives and feels that it very important to have someone to help navigate through these unpredictable times.
Mark enjoys spending time with Mary Lou, his wife of forty-four years, and helping those in need in his community. He is particularly proud of their son Scott, a graduate of the US Naval Academy. Scott skippered a racing yacht for the Varsity Offshore Sailing Team while at the USNA. Scott served in the Navy on submarines for 10 years and now is in business development with Lockheed Martin in Dallas.
When the weather is good, you will find Mark on Lake Manawa enjoying his passion, racing his Nacra 5.2 catamaran sailboat. Mark and Mary Lou enjoy sailing their Flying Scot sailboat on Sunday afternoons. Mark is Commodore of the Eastern Nebraska Sailing Association and is active at the Lake Manawa Sailing Association. He has served on several homeowner's associations now and in the past.
